Welcome

Welcome to our school website!

Scoil Mhuire na nAingeal or The Sisters of Charity, as it is known locally is a Catholic primary school located in the centre of Clonmel. While it is primarily a girl’s school, we welcome boys to 1st Class level.

Today, there are 430 girls and boys in our school and the staff has grown to 22 teachers and 4 SNAs (16 class teachers, 5 Special Education teachers and the Principal). Ms. Triona Geary is the school's Principal and Mrs. Maeve Cullinane the Deputy Principal. Our hardworking secretary is Penny Carew.

We are very proud of the traditions in our school. The boys and girls are given every opportunity to partake in a range of   curricular and extra- curricular activities. We have a strong sporting tradition especially in Gaelic football, Camogie, Hockey, Athletics, Dancing and Swimming.  The girls are also encouraged to get involved in our school choir, quiz teams , art workshops, drama classes, traditional group and music lessons.  In our school we firmly believe "Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí."

We are particularly proud of our school playgrounds, gardens, glasshouse and field which are under the constant care of our Caretaker Anthony Lawless and the Green School's Committee. We were awarded our 1st Green Schools' Flag last year and are working towards gaining a second flag in 2011.

Our school welcomes and encourages the co-operation and involvement of parents and guardians in the education of their children and acknowledges the significant benefits of effective partnership between school, home and Board of Management.

We hope you enjoy your online tour of our school.
